We are looking for volunteers to take part in a pilot study that aims to explore whether a smartwatch can help reduce tics. Young people can take part if they are aged 10-17 and they have been diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome or a tic disorder.

The study will involve visiting the University of Nottingham for a 1-hour trial of the watch that emits mild vibrations whilst worn on the wrist or ankle. There will be breaks every 15 minutes whilst symptoms and feelings will be monitored by a researcher. The researcher will also carry out a short interview (max. 30 minutes) following the trial to explore participants’ feelings and experience after wearing the watch.

Parents or carers of young people interested in taking part are encouraged to contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. for further details.
