The Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health (ACAMH) have announced Professor Chris Hollis, Director of MindTech, as the joint winner of this year's 'Digital Innovation Award'. 

The 'Digital Innovation Award' is for a researcher, or research team, who has published the best paper on an information, data, IT, digital topic relating to child and adolescent mental health or a clinician, or a team, who has put evidence base into practice with the information, data, IT, digital fields within child and adolescent mental health. 

ACAMH recognised Professor Chris Hollis' and the MindTech team's Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry review in 2017 and said his other work has been: 'extremely important and timely for informing services and practitioners of the evidence base here. In the climate of COVID-19 this research evidence and sharing it has become even more crucial.'

“It’s a huge honour to receive the Association of Child an Adolescent Mental Health (ACAMH) Digital Innovation Award for 2020 on behalf of our fantastic MindTech team. I regard this prestigious award as genuine recognition for the outstanding work of the staff, students and collaborators at MindTech in developing and promoting evidence-based digital mental healthcare since MindTech was established in 2013. I am also particularly delighted to share the award with my colleague and collaborator, Professor Eva Serlachius from the Karolinska Institute in Sweden. International partnership is critical to progress in digital mental health research and practice, and our collaboration with Prof Serlachius’s team at the Karolinska in the HTA ORBIT (add link) trial is a wonderful example of this.  The timing of this award is also very important as the Covid-19 pandemic has created an unprecedented need and demand for trusted and evidence-based digital mental health support.  Hence, MindTech’s role has never been more important in delivering internationally-leading research that can be implemented at pace and scale in the NHS as part of a new generation of blended digital mental health services.”
