Our Children and Young People’s theme focuses on how technology can be used to help the treatment of mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and self-harm, as well as neurodevelopmental conditions like attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Tourette Syndrome, and Autism. Most mental health conditions develop during childhood so early diagnosis and treatment is critically important.
The aim of our research is to understand how technology can be used to deliver patient-focused, evidence-based interventions that make care more accessible, deliver benefits to young people, and improve the efficiency of the NHS.
