Event description:

Join us for an interactive webinar discussing ways of working with stakeholders (people with lived experience of mental health conditions, clinicians, administrators, parents/carers) to inform effective development of mental health technology. Hear from a range of industry experts in a series of dynamic talks, followed by a Q&A session.

This webinar is jointly hosted by the NIHR HealthTech Research Centre for Mental Health (MindTech) and the Mental Health Research for Innovation Centre (M-RIC).

Webinar programme:

  • Victoria Betton, Head of Digital and AI at Health Innovation Kent, Surrey and Sussex, will illuminate how human-centred design can be the deciding factor in producing something that people want to use and support sustained engagement over time. Victoria will highlight ways of thinking and working with stakeholders to bring out elements of design of most importance.
  • Elaine Bousfield, Founder and Director of Zuntold, will tell us about how involving end users and stakeholders in the development of Zuntold has created an app that supports the needs of its users. She will set out what has been important in working with end users, and what methods/techniques have been most successful.
  • James Bungay, a software developer with lived experience of a mental health condition, will share how he has worked with MindTech supporting a digital technology partner company in the development of a new platform to support remote treatment. James will reflect on his involvement in the project and share what has worked as well as lessons learned for others to benefit.
